FAHRENHEIT 451

Things learned from the wiki page of Fahrenheit 451 that I think are important to get an understanding of the novel.

• Beatty's explanation of why books are meant to be burned explains that the society is destroying itself and that books had controversial content outdated content. He then explains that the government took advantage and made it so they would censor books by burning them.

• Guy Montags character is someone who is in conflict and doesn't know what to believe in so he believes in what he hears and goes with what he experiences with the lack of knowledge he has

• Beatty who used to be and avid reader and now hates books due to how society and opinions from others has made books seem bad shows how many people in the novel feel that books are taboo

• Clarrise is a character who made made Montag question his life and what he was doing and this is something that started to get Montag thinking on the matter of the book burning

• The exiled book readers showed how people rebelled to the censorship of books and showed Montag another side of books to society
